Hmmm … Marx never dealt with the subject, not being a practical man. Stalin thought of accidents as “sabotage.” That wouldn’t do. The Russian Orthodox Church thought of accidents as “the will of God.” No good. Kaissel was temporarily stymied. The he laughed because he couldn’t even find an American analog. American non-mathematicians had no concept for “accident” either; in the event of unpredicted and unpleasant happenings there was always some rich person/corporation who was blamable enough to be sued.
